Meet Dr. Michael Petrides

Dr. Michael 'Mike' Petrides

Dr. Michael “Mike” Petrides was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio, and graduated from Steubenville High School in 2012. Dr. Mike went on to attend Duquesne University, where he obtained a B.S. in biology. He then attended West Virginia University his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 2019.

During his time in dental school, Dr. Mike held various leadership roles in the American Student Dental Association, including chapter president, and represented the dental school at many national conferences.

Awards and recognition in dental school include:

• Delta Dental Certificate of Recognition
• Pierre Fauchard Academy Certificate of Merit
• American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry Award of Merit
• Quintessence Award for Research

Following dental school, Dr. Mike went on to complete an additional two years of training in a general practice residency through Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton. Dr. Mike had the distinct honor to be appointed chief resident in his second year. During his time there, he became proficient in procedures such as root canals, implant dentistry, dentures, oral sedation, developmentally disabled population, and hospital dentistry.

Dr. Mike is an active member of the American Dental Association, West Virginia Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Spear Education. Dr. Petrides has an active role in providing care at Wheeling Health Right to the underserved community and educating dental students.

In his spare time, Dr. Mike enjoys golfing, rooting on the Mountaineers, and spending time with friends and family.
